Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte and the county containing it are named in honor of the German Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city's founding.
The Bank of America Corporate Center (tallest building in the photo on the right) is the tallest skyscraper in Charlotte and the tallest between Atlanta, GA and Philadelphia, PA.On my way home from visiting my daughter this weekend I decided to do what I have been wanting to do for a while now; stop and take some photos of Charlotte. I wish I had some more time to explore. Maybe next time!
