author of something beautiful

One of life's quiet excitements is to stand somewhat apart from yourself and watch yourself softly becoming the author of something beautiful even if it's only a floating ash.
-- Norman Maclean (1902-1990) American Author: A River Runs Through It

The quote above by Norman Maclean is absolutely right. Every single one of us are authors of our very own beautiful book; the book of life! I think one of the best things about the book of life is that it's always changing and it's also always right. Yes through life we make wrong decisions but that's why it's so beautiful. It's beautiful because we are continuously learning and growing from our mistakes. In the photo above is a picture of my girls taking a stroll on the covered bridge in Elizabethon, one in which life I created. God has blessed me with the little one on the right with her mom and big sister. However, I am not just blessed through her, I'm blessed with all 3 of them and every other person in my life who has been there for me!

it won't be like this for long

...He lays down there beside her
Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watch'n her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows
It wont be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah this phase is gonna fly by
He's try'n to hold on
It won't be like this for long... -Darius Rucker

Every time I look at this photo, I just can't help but to laugh. I think its so funny to see the wrinkles in her little forehead. She holds it like that all the time. I'm still trying to compare her lines to my lines. I haven't quite figured it out who's lines she has yet!

naptime

No day is so bad it can't be fixed with a nap.  -Carrie Snow

This is one of my favorite photos so far of my daughter, Madelyn. As of today, she now weighs 5 pounds and 13 ounces. She definitely holds the key to my heart...good luck getting it from her!

Here is another one of my favorites taken after her bath. Needless to say, she doesn't take a likin' to bein' naked too much.

madelyn denise

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankrolls smaller, homes happier, clothes shabbier, THE PAST FORGOTTEN, and the future worth living for. - author unknown

Pictured above is my daughter, Madelyn Denise, born November 2, 2010 at 10:51 pm. She was 6 lbs exactly. Needless to say, she already has me wrapped!
